The automotive sector in Mexico, aftermarkets parts overview, and PAACE Automechanika Trade Show, which Temel Gaskets is also one of the attendances of the fair for many years, has been discussed in the webinar sections. This webinar was a great opportunity to learn about the massive opportunities available on automotive sector in Mexico and PAACE trade Show. Victor Tapia from Temel Gaskets heard from the experts on this dynamic market for the automotive sector: Monica Martinez – Commercial Specialist, U.S. Embassy – Mexico City Alejandro Calderon – President of the Mexican Association of Spare Parts Distributors Mexico is the 5th Largest Producer in the World In the first block of the webinar, Monica Martinez, a commercial specialist at the U.S. Embassy in Mexico City, explains the importance of the automotive sector in Mexico. Temel’s second hometown, Atlanta, welcomes the NACV show

Temel’s second hometown, Atlanta, welcomes the NACV show

Next week, during the dates of September 25-28, Atlanta will be welcoming the global automotive industry for the first NACV (North American Commercial Vehicle) show.  The show will take place at the Georgia World Congress Center located in downtown Atlanta. Following a successful stay in Kansas City, Atlanta has been Temel’s second home for close to a decade already. In that same period (we are not claiming direct credit for it) the southeast made a great leap in becoming the new hub for vehicle manufacturers internationally. Proximity to ports and air transport options make Atlanta and it’s surroundings perfect candidates to be a major part of a global supply chain. From its Atlanta location, Temel serves its clients in the Americas and in Europe, offering close to 24hr availability to its clients, together with its Izmir office. Visitors to NACV will most certainly have a great interest in Temel’s range of products as they are specifically focused on the heavy-duty commercial applications popular in North America. Both with its tooling manufacturing capabilities and its production capacity, Temel offers an up to date selection of items for the hardest working engines in the market today. Building on more than 40 years of expertise, today, Temel has become a full-service engineering which can take a project from its inception all the way to the packaged product. Its expertise in high precision stamped and molded elastomer sealing solutions, offers a great advantage in the manufacturing of parts for many other purposes, including transmission parts, dynamic seals, heat shields and even parts for alternative fuel vehicles. As always, we would like to share...
Kennesaw University AUV Team Thanks Temel for Sponsorship

Kennesaw University AUV Team Thanks Temel for Sponsorship

Last year, Temel was one of the sponsors for the Formula SAE Southern Invitational. During that event, Temel was introduced to a great group of students who were involved in various SAE supported activities. One group took interest in what they could learn from Temel’s years of expertise in the high precision production of rubber and metal parts. This specific group of students was from the Kennesaw University AUV Team. AUV stands for an autonomous underwater vehicle. Over the following weeks, Temel worked with Cody Meier, Albert Cheng and Vinh Nguyen from Kennesaw University AUV Team. Hard work from both sides delivered the custom designed seal for the AUV. You may visit their site for details on the current status of their project and the team. The Kennesaw University AUV Team was kind enough to officially thank us on their website. We would like to thank them for their enthusiasm, motivation and their hard work to test the theory in real life applications. Here is the message posted on the KSU AUV team website: Temel Gaskets was kind enough to design O-rings to fit our acrylic tube. They will prevent water from reaching our camera when the machine has submerged. Over the past few months, we have communicated our technical drawings and specifications with their engineering department to manufacture the components. Temel has also been an active member of SAE Atlanta since its revamp back in 2016. Director of Business Development, Tunç Kip of Temel Gaskets has been a board member for the chapter since the revamp. SAE Atlanta recently acquired the Alabama region, further expanding its reach and growing the membership. Please visit the SAE...

Automechanika Mexico City INA PAACE 2017 is coming up in just a week

Automechanika Mexico City INA PAACE 2017 is coming up in just a week

From June 13-16 2017, Temel Gaskets will once again exhibit at the Automechanika Mexico City INA PAACE in Mexico City, Mexico. We will be located at Booth # 2723. This is the second consecutive year in which Industria Nacional de Autopartes (INA) and Messe Frankfurt have partnered to host the automotive OEM and aftermarket event. We will be present to discuss new projects, and look forward to meeting with potential business partners. The leading automakers have built a significant base with manufacturing plants in Mexico over the past five years. The automotive industry in Mexico is an engine of national economic growth. Currently, this activity represents 3.3% of its Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and contributes to 20% of the manufacturing industry. In addition, 10% of foreign direct investment (FDI) comes from the automotive industry which also accounts for almost 12% of total exports. Thanks to this, Mexico is ranked as the seventh largest producer of light vehicles worldwide and it is expected to be the fifth by 2020 (CNN Expansion). But what makes Mexico a manufacturing hub for global automakers? Lower labor costs are just one of the many reasons. While the country’s lower wages have been the initial attraction, a major key advantage the country poses is that it has active trade agreements with 44 countries. These agreements give automakers access to half of the global car market tariff-free (Bloomberg). As Center for Automotive Research (CAR) analyst, Kristin Dziczek points out, “It’s pretty ironic that what makes Mexico successful is free trade”. Because of free trade and proximity to the United States of America, Mexico has evolved in the last 30 years from an oil...
