The critical functionality of this part makes Temel a perfect candidate to bring together the years of engineering expertise with the design, development and manufacturing activities necessary in order to create the right product.     In an automatic transmission, the valve body is the controlling mechanism for the flow of fluids. Inside the valve body, the primary moving parts are metal balls which regulate fluid flow by functioning as check valves. The combination of the orifice size and the arrangement of the seat with the metal balls determine the flow rate and direction, respectively. There are examples of valve body designs where the metal balls are also supported by springs as a way to further control the flow.   If functioning properly, all of these pieces ensure the correct timing of the transmission shift. Any variation may result in lower performance. The hydraulic fluid activates the necessary clutch pack or servo units based on the selected gear. Gaskets are one of the essential parts of the engine that most vehicle owners do not anticipate having to replace. Of course, the need for gasket replacement depends on how long the vehicle has been in use and its past history. The purpose of a gasket is to seal engine components and prevent leaks. Engine leaks are one of the worst problems a vehicle can have, which reinforces the importance of functional gaskets.   In general, a gasket will not begin malfunctioning until the vehicle has reached at least 60,000 miles. There are a few warning signs that show when a gasket needs to be replaced. Coolant leaks One of the common signs is coolant leaks that a gasket may need replacing, however, there are other causes for coolant leaks like a leaky radiator cap, a hole in the radiator, or a water pump leak. This type of leak would usually require a replacement of the manifold gaskets that are used to attach the intake manifold cover to the top of the engine. While replacing manifold gaskets can be temporarily delayed, a failing head gasket must be addressed immediately. In a business context this idea can be used to maximize preparation for optimal outcomes, minimizing expenditure of time and utilizing the information already available. Therefore, we could say, that the implementation of this idea makes a business intelligent! In order to evaluate possible scenarios clearly, we must require precise and clear input on all relevant conditions impacting the process, which leads to the desired outcome. When opinions are presented which are often based on assumptions and if those opinions are used in assisting business decisions, we are already off the mark. On the other hand, a structured approach can provide great insight into possible outcomes before any action is executed. Further, a structured approach can offer a platform for subject matter experts to consolidate their expert opinions in an effort to achieve a description of the scenarios as close to reality as possible. In an article published in Counterman magazine’s April 2015 issue (p.50), it is suggested that gaskets should be sold in sets. We strongly agree with this suggestion and wish to explain the reasons we believe that, as a consumer, you should ask to buy gaskets in complete sets. It is quite often necessary that a complete revision job involve the replacement of all gaskets during scheduled engine maintenance. It’s also very common that many of the smaller parts in gasket kits vary between versions of similar engines. In these cases there is an increased need to make sure that the kit contains all parts necessary to bring the job to completion. Even the smallest part, if missing from the kit, can result in a frustrating interruption of the job. Apart from cylinder head, valve cover and oil pan gaskets, most of which are types of gaskets that can easily be identified and included in singular quantities, gasket kits are likely to contain many other parts that are in greater and varying quantities. It is often a challenge for the end user of the kit or the wholesale distributor to verify the contents for each kit as it is received. Therefore, we recommend, when possible, to purchase gasket kits that are compiled at their source to ensure that all parts needed during a job will be included in each kit. I recently had the privilege and the pleasure of representing Temel Gaskets USA at the Auto Care Association’s annual Spring Leadership Days event in Scottsdale, Arizona. This event serves wonderfully as a platform for auto care professionals and volunteers to convene and have the opportunity to further develop existing relationships while becoming acquainted with new members. The shared goal of identifying ways to overcome industry challenges is one of the primary driving forces behind this event, which has a refreshingly positive impact on those wishing to work together and be active participants. Temel Gaskets is a long time member of Auto Care (formerly known as AAIA), and we are pleased to have discovered more opportunities to positively impact the association’s efforts. Although this was the first ever Leadership Days event we have attended, it will remain on our calendar as a recurring event in the future. It was my great honor to have received the invitation to this event through the Next Step program as one of the 12 scholarship recipients from the auto care young professionals. Next Step program’s objective is to provide a gateway for the future generation of auto care industry leaders into the inner workings of the Auto Care Association and to give them an exceptional chance to interact with current industry leaders.
