As a continued partner to the AAPEX show, Temel had a very productive attendance at the show.
Possibly the best AAPEX ever this year!!!
Temel presented the latest product developments from its range, such as the DD15 Cylinder head gasket. A fairly complex construction which consists of pieces that bring metal and elastomer together. Metal pieces are stamped using metal tool to achieve the highest precision and the elastomer is edge bonded in molding tools. The trick here is to make sure the final product has the required dimensions, which is not a challenge for Temel since both the stamping and elastomer molding takes please entirely at Temel’s facilities. We carry many other parts of similar design features and we are confident for this item to offer great success.
Another item on display was the 3D printed C7 Oil Pan gasket. As part of our ongoing product development efforts, we know offer 3D printing for as a service for new products prior to moving onto the tooling phase. We can perform fitment test and even functionality testing with some of the parts. This particular item was in fact made of three different material types. 3D printed Nylon, 3D printed rubber and metal grommets as stoppers. 3D printing is a great advantage in rapid prototyping and allows our tooling development process to move ahead at the fastest speed. Temel produces all stamping and molding tools in house and can deliver first production samples within two weeks for some standard items and in just ten weeks for most cylinder head gaskets.
Placing our product range in a new application category, we also had gas pump gaskets that are full elastomer molded with metal carriers. These products are produced in single molding tools which are designed and produced entirely at Temel’s facilities. Design verification for these products were done using 3D printing of soft material which resembles close to rubber characteristics.
We look forward to the next AAPEX in 2020 and we hope to build on all the new leads gathered during the show just last month.
