Automechanika Shanghai will be opening its doors this week for its 2015 episode at the National Convention and Exhibition Center (Shanghai) in Hongqiao, Puxi. On Wednesday, December 2nd, thousands of visitors and exhibitors from the global automotive industry will meet to discuss the latest technologies, new products and the upcoming.

This is Temel Gaskets‘ second time exhibiting at the show. It has surely been many times for Messe Frankfurt in Shanghai however this is the very first time for everyone at the new show-grounds.

Starting with this year, Automechanika Shanghai will be held at a brand new exhibition space near the Hongqiao airport. It is claimed to be the largest of its kind and once the building is insight, it is hard for anyone to argue with that.

Transportation to the show site is likely to be the most convenient by the wide network of metro stretching from Pudong airport to all the way over by the show-grounds. Taxis are fairly economical in Shanghai and outside of rush our times, traffic flows at a decent speed. We would like to suggest being wary of possible long taxi lines around show closing times.

If you are Shanghai bound or already here, we hope to save you time by sharing a few tips that helped us in our last trip.

1.Print out the show address and the hotel address:
It is as simple as just printing out the addresses but might save you a lot of time and save you from extra trips, too. The show venue address is:

The National Convention and Exhibition Center
333 Songze Avenue, Puxi, Shanghai, China
上海浦西崧泽大道333号
国家会展中心 (上海)

Most hotels have their addresses easily accessible on their websites or you may visit the friendly concierge to have it written down for you.

2. Make note of the gate you are coming in from:
Depending on the gate you are coming in from, your travel time specific spot where you arrive on the exhibition grounds until you make it to your destination booth may drastically vary. Assuming you are intending to visit Temel Gaskets booth as your first stop, we suggest arriving at hall

Here is a quick layout of the show grounds: Metro arrives on the left side of the layout, and the taxis depart from the right side of the layout.

3. Be prepared for the possible low temperatures: Layering will be very effective against the cool breeze in the morning and when it returns later in the afternoon. Last year, we were very pleased for the scarfs we had packed along. While the forecast shows slightly higher temperatures, it’s probably wise to be prepared.

4.Google Translate App: This is an app most people wouldnt mind paying for but its very nice of Google to offer it for free. While it requires active internet connection to work properly, if you have establish that, you will find yourself easily communicating in many languages and the local language, Chinese will be one of those languages Google Translate app can easily help with. You may find the app in the app store for your mobile device depending on its OS.

5. Print out our single sheet translator: Here is a gift from us to everyone visiting the Shanghai this year. We made a list of basic phrases and useful requests. We hope you find it helpful and we suggest keeping this page with you during your visit to Automechanika Shanghai.

You may download the phrase list from here.

While you are in Shanghai, you will be very pleased to make the time to visit some of the local sightseeing spots such as Yu Yuan (Yu Garden), Wen Miao also known as Confucian Temple, City God Temple, Jade Buddha Temple, Shanghai Museum and other famous spots around the Bund such as the Oriental Pearl & TV tower, Shanghai French Concession, Shanghai People’s Square. Relatively closer to the show grounds, you may find the Shanghai Zoo.
