2016 has proven to be a productive year for Temel Gaskets so far. Our team has traveled the United States and many international locations to expand our business opportunities and make new connections. In addition to our travels, the Temel Gaskets team works diligently in our US and Turkish offices and continues making great efforts to provide optimal client satisfaction. The year began with goal setting, and planning the events we would attend and achievements we aimed to accomplish. In our article on goal setting, we used a combination of tips from Heidi Grant Halvorson and Six Sigma to create a plan of action for the year. We discussed goal setting techniques that can be applied to business goals and outside ambitions. Atlanta was overflowing with local automotive industry related events in early 2016. In January, Next Generation Manufacturing hosted a Young Professionals networking event and SAE Atlanta welcomed HondaJet Aircraft Company Representative, Samantha A. Magill PhD,  as the featured speaker of their quarterly meeting. On February 3, Tunc Kip, from Temel Gaskets and Olivia Whitehurst, from Global Parts Distributors, hosted a YANG Regional Meet-Up with guest speaker Glenn Carver, VP of Business Development and DeltaWings Technologies, who spoke about making beneficial career moves and finding your passion. Temel Gaskets Exhibits at Automechanika Dubai 2016

From May 8-10, Temel Gaskets attended Automechanika Dubai 2016 at the Dubai World Trade Center. The trade show attracted over 2,000 exhibitors from 58 different countries and 30,000+ attendees. While at the show, we exhibited at our booth, where we enjoyed meeting attendees and making new business connections. We had great traffic to our booth from countries including Germany, France, the UK, Brazil, Argentina, Poland, the US, and the UAE. We also experienced positive results from our recent marketing efforts.   The successful execution of Automechanika Dubai would not have been possible without the efficiency and attention to detail by the show organizers and contributing organizations. The national participation for Turkey was organized by the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO), an organization that keeps track of commercial transactions and records from Istanbul based commercial companies. Originally founded in 1876, the organization has over a century of experience regulating business in the Turkish region. As one of the world’s largest Chambers of Commerce, the Istanbul division has 350,000 registered members. The members are divided into specially categorized committees based on their company’s industry. This is the first time the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce organized Turkey’s participation in this trade show.   Recently, the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce has taken on new projects to enrich the business environment in Turkey and overall scope of Turkish Influence. One of their education oriented projects involved the establishment of Istanbul Commerce University, which has 3,860 undergraduate students and 412 postgraduate students pursuing degrees in one or more of the 5 faculty departments. The show can become very busy and it is important to schedule any desired meetings beforehand to make sure everyone involved has time to modify their schedules. 2. Arrive Early Like most major cities, traffic conditions in Nashville are usually a bit congested. The city is not built on a grid system; therefore, even after only one missed turn, it may take a bit longer to get back on route. If you prefer not to drive, Nashville offers a commuter rail...
