Temel Gaskets Mid-Year Wrap-Up

2016 has proven to be a productive year for Temel Gaskets so far. Our team has traveled the United States and many international locations to expand our business opportunities and make new connections. In addition to our travels, the Temel Gaskets team works diligently in our US and Turkish offices and continues making great efforts to provide optimal client satisfaction. The year began with goal setting, and planning the events we would attend and achievements we aimed to accomplish. In our article on goal setting, we used a combination of tips from Heidi Grant Halvorson and Six Sigma to create a plan of action for the year. We discussed goal setting techniques that can be applied to business goals and outside ambitions. Atlanta was overflowing with local automotive industry related events in early 2016. In January, Next Generation Manufacturing hosted a Young Professionals networking event and SAE Atlanta welcomed HondaJet Aircraft Company Representative, Samantha A. Magill PhD,  as the featured speaker of their quarterly meeting. On February 3, Tunc Kip, from Temel Gaskets and Olivia Whitehurst, from Global Parts Distributors, hosted a YANG Regional Meet-Up with guest speaker Glenn Carver, VP of Business Development and DeltaWings Technologies, who spoke about making beneficial career moves and finding your passion. In late January, Temel Gaskets participated in Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week (HDAW) 2016 where attendees were presented with the latest product developments from the heavy duty industry. This was the first trade show we attended as an HDMA member. The closest second contender is Indonesia by only an additional 0.6 million units of production. Mexico is projected to show a year-on-year growth rate twice as much of that at 1.5 million units of production within a period of 2013 to 2019 according to a research done by the consultancy firm Rolland Berger. Furthermore, “Mexico is the country that has signed the most free trade agreements worldwide, which facilitates exportations of vehicles and autoparts” as noted in a report published by PwC. Also mentioned in the same report, the government of Mexico continues to work together with Latin American countries in order to eliminate or reduce customs duties in South American countries. Creating greater leverage for their geographical position and its logistical advantage as an exporter to the Americas. In light of such clear market potential, Temel Gaskets made the decision to make sure its market expansion efforts include Mexico’s growing automotive and truck markets.
